The Perdix 3 is the logical evolution of the Perdix 2, a true industry benchmark. What I particularly appreciate is the switch to an AMOLED screen: the contrast is sharp, even in murky water or during night dives. The addition of all-round titanium protection provides real peace of mind when it comes to the knocks and bumps that are part and parcel of life on a boat and in the water. Being able to change the AA battery yourself on the other side of the world remains a major advantage for travellers who refuse to rely on a specific charger or a built-in rechargeable battery.

Can it be used with transmitters from other brands ? The computer is optimised to work with Shearwater’s Swift transmitters, but it uses a standard protocol compatible with the majority of air-management transmitters operating on the 38 kHz frequency.

What is the main difference compared to the Perdix 2? The Perdix 3 features a brighter, more energy-efficient AMOLED screen, as well as a slightly sleeker profile reinforced by its titanium frame. Furthermore, the inclusion of Bluetooth 6 enables a faster connection to the mobile app. Also, with a screen size 19 per cent larger than version 2 (6.1 cm diagonal), it features a ‘BIG’ layout that enlarges the text for better readability.
It also features a free-diving mode, which Version 2 did not have.
