TUSA RS1207 Regulator

TUSA RS1207 Regulator

Tusa has designed the RS 1207 regulator in a DIN configuration, featuring a compact and lightweight unbalanced piston first stage. Its design incorporates four low-pressure (LP) outlets and one high-pressure (HP) outlet for connecting a pressure gauge, an inflator and an octopus.

The second stage is fitted with an unbalanced downstream valve combined with a Venturi flow control lever. This adjustment reduces the risk of air surges at the surface whilst making it easier to breathe whilst underwater.

The flexible cover incorporates a large purge button to expel water with a single press of the finger, even when wearing thick gloves.

The simplified design of the first and second stages facilitates disassembly and periodic servicing.

Diveavenue’s expert review of the Tusa RS1207 regulator

“The RS 1207 gets straight to the point: it’s an indestructible regulator that’s very easy to maintain. The adjustable Venturi system prevents the second stage from surging when you enter the water. It’s an excellent choice for your first personal regulator after completing Level 1, or for those on a budget looking to kit themselves out.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the Venturi adjustment lever on the second stage for?

It is used to direct the internal airflow. In the ‘Pre-Dive’ position on the surface, it prevents the regulator from accidentally triggering a continuous flow when it falls into the water. Whilst diving, switch it to the ‘Dive’ position to make breathing easier.

Why choose the DIN version rather than the yoke version?

The DIN connection screws directly into the cylinder valve, resulting in a more compact, lighter assembly that is better protected against impact. The seal is located directly on the first-stage thread.

How should you maintain the regulator after each dive?

Leave the DIN protective cap securely in place on the first stage to prevent water from entering the chamber. Rinse the entire regulator with fresh water without pressing the purge button on the second stage to keep the mechanism dry.
