Once you’ve tried a K01, you’ll never want to go back to a standard hood. What I appreciate most of all is that ‘second skin’ feel: the neoprene is so elastic that you don’t get that sensation of having your head in a vice. The air-release system is the most effective on the market: you’ll never again experience that ridiculous ‘arrowhead’ effect caused by an air bubble trapped at the top of your head.

How do I choose my size ? The K01 fits quite accurately. We recommend measuring your head circumference horizontally above the ears. Thanks to the extreme flexibility of Hayashi neoprene, it adapts to unusual head shapes without feeling tight.

Does the neoprene flatten out over time ? Hayashi neoprene is renowned for its exceptional shape memory. Unlike low-end neoprene, which becomes very thin after 50 dives at 40 metres, the K01 retains its insulating properties and thickness for much longer.

Is the 5 mm version sufficient for winter ? For most divers in freshwater or cold seas, the 5 mm is the ideal compromise between flexibility and warmth. If you feel the cold easily or remain stationary for long periods (technical diving), the 8 mm version is like a hot water bottle.
