Flexibuoy Marelux camera arm float

Flexibuoy Marelux

Balancing an underwater photography rig is essential for preventing wrist strain and stabilising your shots. The Flexibuoy is a modular buoyancy system that attaches directly to your support arms or crossbars. Unlike traditional buoys, it allows for precise adjustment of the weight position to achieve neutral buoyancy, making it easier to handle your housing in both macro and wide-angle shooting.

Diveavenue’s expert review

We tested the Flexibuoy on heavy setups with large glass domes, and the difference in comfort is immediate. What we particularly like is the ability to slide the buoy along the arm to find the perfect balance for the whole setup. No more housing nosediving the moment you let go of the handle: you gain stability for your videos and precision for your macro focus.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can you stack several floats on the same arm? Absolutely: the cylindrical design and mounting system allow you to line up several if your kit is particularly heavy. Just make sure to leave enough space to operate your clamps.

Is there a risk of the buoy collapsing at 40 metres? No, as it is a rigid hollow aluminium body and not closed-cell foam. Its buoyancy therefore remains constant, regardless of the depth you are at, up to a limit of 100 metres.

How do I choose the right volume? It depends on the apparent weight of your housing in the water. We often recommend starting with a 400 ml model for the main arms and adjusting with smaller volumes if necessary.
