Tecline has designed the Wing Donut 22 Special Edition rebreather to meet the specific needs of rebreather diving.

Its circular ‘donut’ profile ensures smooth air flow around the entire circumference of the bladder, facilitating precise equalisation and optimal buoyancy control. The specific shape of this rebreather edition is shortened and widened at the top to fit perfectly with the size of the rebreather units whilst avoiding interference with the hoses, connectors and rebreather head. Manufactured with a robust outer shell in 1000D Cordura and an inner bladder in 240 PU

The central position of the inflator and the low-mounted purge valve allow for rapid degassing in all positions. The integrated structure prevents the formation of trapped air pockets, ensuring perfect horizontal trim.

Why use a doughnut-shaped wing rather than a horseshoe-shaped one on a rebreather?

The doughnut shape allows air to circulate freely 360° around the entire circumference of the bladder. This prevents air from becoming trapped on one side when you lean or turn underwater, making trim management much easier.

Is the Donut 22 Rebreather wing compatible with a standard backplate? Yes, it has standard 11-inch (28 cm) mounting centres, allowing it to be fitted to any backplate (stainless steel or aluminium) or directly onto your rebreather’s harness.

How should the wing be maintained after dives in challenging conditions? Thoroughly rinse the inside of the bladder with fresh water via the inflator to remove salt and debris. Completely drain any stagnant water, then leave the wing to dry whilst partially inflated, away from direct UV light.
