This is GoPro’s most versatile extendable pole thanks to its built-in 360° ball joint, which allows you to change the viewing angle instantly. The Bluetooth remote control is a real joy to use for remote triggering when the pole is fully extended. However, be aware of a crucial detail: Bluetooth wireless technology does not work underwater. The remote control is fully waterproof to 5m, so it can withstand splashes and use on the surface, but it won’t be able to control the camera if you submerge it completely whilst diving.

What exactly is included in the kit ? The pack is extremely comprehensive. It contains the telescopic pole, the waterproof shutter remote control, the ball joint adapter, the standard GoPro mount adapter, a knurled screw, a wrist strap, and a wrist strap with an extension to attach the remote control directly to your wrist.

Can the pole be used for deep scuba diving ? The aluminium pole is fine at depth, but the remote control is limited to 5m. If you’re going deep (beyond 5m), simply detach the remote control and leave it on the boat. The pole will work a treat at the bottom of the water with your waterproof housing.

What maintenance is required after a trip out to sea ? As the pole and remote control are exposed to salt water, a thorough rinse with fresh water is essential after every trip. Extend the pole fully to rinse out any salt and sand between the aluminium sections, then leave everything to dry in the shade.
