IKELITE Flash DS160 II TTL + battery charger

Flash IKELITE DS160 mark II NiMH

The Ikelite DS160 is one of the most popular flash units among professional photographers worldwide.

More important than its high light output is the round tube and the special surface treatment of the reflector, which gives it a soft and very even light.

Efficient modelling light

The integrated 205 lumen modelling light allows the camera's auto-focus to focus easily in dark conditions. It is also ideal as an exploration light for night dives.

Outstanding performance

The DS160 underwater flash has long been the choice of professionals who need a waterproof flash that can be counted on to perform again and again. No flash on the market today comes close to the number of hours of factory and field testing as our DS160 series, including under Antarctic ice.The Ni-MH battery gives this flash a runtime of 300 flashes at full power. Its ultra-fast 1.0 second recharge time allows for unprecedented shooting performance. The battery charger accepts voltages between 100 and 240 volts. The flash can therefore be used anywhere in the world.

TTL exposure mode

When the flash is combined with an Ikelite housing equipped with TTL electronics, the flash automatically adjusts the exposure to capture your macro or ambient shots.

Additional information:

The guide number of a flash is the intensity of light in the centre of the beam. Many flash manufacturers choose to use a reflector that focuses the beam in the centre to artificially increase the guide number of the flash. Ikelite has chosen to "sacrifice" the flash guide number very slightly in order to achieve a smooth, even, hot-spot-free image.

Most underwater flash manufacturers indicate in their flash specifications a maximum beam angle and not a coverage angle. The average coverage of an underwater flash is generally narrower than that indicated (average between 55 and 70° depending on the manufacturer). The coverage angle of Ikelite flashes is therefore well above average.
