The Garmin Descent G2, the new connected watch of 2025! What to expect from this new diving watch?
With this second generation, the Descent G2 series introduces a new 1.2” AMOLED touchscreen (390 x 390 px), offering significantly improved legibility and excellent battery life. Already tried and tested on the Mk series, this screen guarantees an optimal visual experience, ideal for ever more high-performance diving.
The watch is protected by a sapphire crystal glass, ensuring enhanced scratch resistance and perfect clarity underwater. Its inductive impulse buttons ensure total water-resistance without O-rings or membranes, guaranteeing water-resistance to 100 meters.
Designed with eco-responsibility in mind, the Descent G2 boasts a 45 mm case in reinforced polymer, made from recovered and recycled ocean plastics. Garmin is thus actively committed to reducing its environmental impact and helping to preserve marine ecosystems.
All the plastic used in the design of the case, bezel and buttons comes from plastic waste recovered from the ocean and recycled. Once collected, this plastic is sorted, cleaned and dried, before being melted and transformed into resin pellets. It is then reinforced with fiberglass and colored, before being molded into the various parts of the watch.
The Descent G2 features advanced dive planning, allowing you to set gas mixes (Trimix, Nitrox, air), define decompression stops and manage safety stops. It offers four diving modes adapted to different practices:
To keep track of your dives and get the most out of them, it's essential that the watch remains on the diver's wrist for as long as possible. That's why autonomy is a key criterion for Garmin.
For freedivers, twelve specific modes are available, including dynamic freediving, static freediving, spearfishing and pool freediving. The integrated GPS allows recording of entry and exit points on the surface, making it easy to keep track of your dives.
